Where: Locarno Beach Picnic Site - 4445 NW Marine Drive, Locarno Beach Park
When: Thursday August 7, 6-9pm
What: The club will provide BBQs to cook on, burgers (a limited number with first come first served so come early), condiments and soft drinks.
Please bring: some salads or desserts to share.  Also please bring your own plates, cups, and utensils. 
Games (bocci ball?) and musical instruments welcome - if you have a talent we'd love to have you share it with us!

What: Review of the past season's activities, club finances and election of 2025/25 Executive, together with socializing and food. There will also be a presentation on the very successful 2025 Invictus Games. 
NB: the club will provide the main course, please bring a dessert potluck item. 

Bowling is back! Join us for another fun-filled evening to wrap up the season. Whether you're a pro or there for the pizza and team camaraderie, we’ve got you covered.

We have two volunteer workshops arranged this winter to help volunteers prepare for the Invictus Games or for one of our scheduled Skiing Is Believing events. This training is required for all volunteers. These are the dates (all sessions at Whistler Olympic Park):

Saturday, December 14 – Whistler Adaptive Sports Program (WASP) Volunteer Training Workshop

Saturday, January 11 – Nordic Racers (NRS) Volunteer Training Workshop on snow session. There will also be a two hour online component for this training on Thursday evening January 9th.

You only need to take one of these workshops to qualify as a volunteer. If you have attended one of these training events in previous years (either from Nordic Racers or Whistler Adaptive Sports Program) you do not need to attend these workshops again unless you wish to refresh your skills.

What: prepare for the upcoming ski season with ski-specific dryland exercises
When: 9:30am every Saturday from the end of Sept until the snow falls!
Where: Meet Location: West Parking Lot B, NW Marine Drive (this is the west-most parking lot before the hill, just west of Parking Lot A)

Note: The first Dryland Training for Fall 2023 will be at Spanish Banks, 9:30am Saturday Sept 28.  It will then alternate between Spanish Banks and Capilano Dam. 

What: Bring food to share and bring your skis to wax and waxing tools if you have some.

When: Directly following dryland training on Saturday, Nov 16 (approx 11:45am).

Where: West Vancouver (12 min drive from Cleveland Dam). Email communications@nordicracers.ca to confirm attendance and get the exact location.

Details: Earn your calories at Dryland, then join us for a potluck food lunch and ski waxing party. We will set up benches for ski waxing. There will be some wax and waxing tools available, but bring your own if you have them. Note that this is not a clinic but experienced skiers will be there and happy to share their knowledge with those just learning to wax their own skis.
