Fall Dryland Training
See you again this fall …
No need to sign up, free of charge … so just c’mon out!
For members, or visitors who wish to try it out (but you must sign a waiver please).
Though our sport takes place in the winter months, training occurs year round. Most people keep their cardiovascular fitness going all year with running, cycling or any other fitness sport. But you can really boost your ski fitness with our coach-led dryland training. In the fall, we meet once a week, for a two hour outdoor workout. It is a self-paced, circuit workout so everyone stays together while working on endurance, strength, power, and high intensity training. And we stretch! You just need running attire (though we don’t run), some ski poles and a water bottle. Be prepared to sweat! Classes run rain or shine. We meet for coffee and snacks afterwards to socialize at a local bistro.
Location alternates between Spanish Banks and the Capilano Fish Hatchery. Starting in September, dryland runs every Sunday until Cypress Mountain Nordic opens. Time: 9:30 am for about two hours. The class runs rain or shine, and we go for coffee afterwards at a local bistro or restaurant.
In the meantime, read our Coaching Tips in this website, including post by BigLifeMag.com for a great summary of training in the off-season.
