Learn To Loppet 2012

Learn to Loppet Skate Has Sold Out.

We are now taking a waitlist.  Please email Sherryl if you want to be on the waitlist.

The minimum prerequisite for Learn to Loppet is that you know how to ski at a basic level. In other words, the program is not geared for complete beginners who have never been on skis before. So as long as you’ve skied at least several times, understand the basics and want to learn more, this is the program for you.

If you have been skiing for years and they know your face on the loppet circuit, then the advanced group is for you. This group will work on fine-tuning technique with a focus on race-specific skills such as terrain transitions and downhill technique. The pace will be high, and you'll do lots of kilometers. Students in the advanced group are expected to have a good fitness level and good basic technique.

The Learn to Loppet 2012 classic program will run over five consecutive Wednesday nights on January 4, 11, 18, 25 and February 1.  The classic program concludes with race support at the Cariboo Marathon Gold Rush on February 4 in 100 Mile House.

The Learn to Loppet 2012 skate program will run over five Wednesday nights on February 8, 15, 22, 29, and March 7.  The L2L skate program concludes with race support at the Mt. Washington Loppet on Vancouver Island on March 31.

Both of these loppets are club trips and the Nordic Racers arranges accommodations.  Registration for the loppets and accommodations are separate from the L2L registration.

Register for L2L classic before December 21 and before January 25 for the skate program to get the early bird rate of $110 for each program.  Registration is limited so don’t delay.

All L2L sessions will be held at Cypress Mountain from 6:30 to 8:30. The group meets in the brown bag room in the base area.

Refunds are provided before the earlybird deadline minus a 10% administrative charge (i.e. Zone 4 and credit card fees). Registrations are transferable to other club members, but some restrictions may apply. After the earlybird deadline prices increase by $40 and there will be no refunds. Registration closes on January 12th for the classic program and February 16th for the skate program.
